Cialis

What is Cialis?

Cialis ® is a name brand prescription drug that is used to treat men who have erectile dysfunction (sexual impotence). Like Viagra ®, it's very easy to use, however this pill is more effective and has fewer side effects in comparison to Sildenafil Citrate or Viagra.

Cialis - Tadalafil's (active ingredient in Cialis) chemical structure is significantly different from Sildenafil Citrates, and in vitro studies confirm significant potency for PDE5 inhibition. Cialis, Eli Lilly & Co./ICOS) is a novel effective and safe phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor, a secondary messenger for the smooth muscle relaxing effects of nitric oxide, which plays a central role in the vasodilatation of erectile tissues.

Because Cialisis s a more effective product it can start working up to twice as fast as Viagra - Sildenafil, and continues working for up to 24-36 hours while Viagra's effectiveness lasts for around 4-6 hours. Cialis is taken about half an hour before any sexual activity begins. It has also been shown to be effective in more people then Viagra. Tests showed that Viagra was found to work for around 65% of people that tried it while under the same tests Cialis - Regalis was found to work for 82% of people that tried it.

FDA has approved Cialis for the treatment of men who experience difficulty having and maintaining an erection (impotence). Although there are other drugs on the market for this indication, this drug is different in that it may work up to 36 hours after dosing.

What are the potential side effects of Cialis?

As with any drug product, there may be side effects. The most commonly reported side effects in patients treated with Cialis during the testing of the product were:

  • headache
  • indigestion
  • flushing
  • muscle pain
  • back pain

The patients who experienced back and muscle aches usually got them 12 to 24 hours after taking Cialis and these problems usually went away by themselves within 48 hours. A small number of patients taking Cialis also reported abnormal vision.

Is there a generic version of the drug Cialis?

Yes, the generic version of Cialis is a drug called Regalis which contains the same active ingredient (Tadalafil) as Cialis does, but costs far less then Cialis and Viagra or even Sildenafil Citrate.
